]]>The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the US economy's most dynamic segment — independent businesses. Companies such as Dell, Pandora, GoPro, Facebook, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as top 500 exclusive honorees on the Inc. 5000.
“We are proud to have contributed to bringing Montana’s rank to number three for the nation’s revenue growth,” said Jennifer Tipton, the company’s founder and creator of the best-selling, animal grooming tool. Inc. shows that Montana is third in revenue growth over the past three years. SleekEZ is Montana’s only products and services company to reach the ranks. “Montana is not the easiest place to operate a consumer product and service business; quality employees, logistics and warehousing have been challenging.” Despite these challenges, however, Tipton has grown the business by 1257.4 percent between 2014 and 2017.
Tipton attributes the made-in-the-USA company’s success on cost-effective marketing, intimate knowledge of her customer base, and putting customer satisfaction first. With a degree in journalism and 13 years background in advanced equine dentistry she was able to mesh the two together and hone in on the market.
Not only have the companies on the 2018 Inc. 5000 been very competitive within their markets, but the list as a whole shows staggering growth compared with prior lists. The 2018 Inc. 5000 achieved an astounding three-year average growth of 538.2 percent, and a median rate of 171.8 percent. The Inc. 5000's aggregate revenue was $206.1 billion in 2017, accounting for 664,095 jobs over the past three years.
"If your company is on the Inc. 5000, it's unparalleled recognition of your years of hard work and sacrifice," said James Ledbetter, Inc. Editor in Chief. "The lines of business may come and go, or come and stay. What doesn't change is the way entrepreneurs create and accelerate the forces that shape our lives."

]]>"This is very exciting," said Jennifer Tipton, owner and creator of SleekEZ LLC. "Tractor Supply is actually one of my favorite stores for all my horse feed and supplies."

]]>WHO CREATED THE SLEEKEZ?
The SleekEZ was created by SleekEZ, LLC, a company located in the USA and organized in Wyoming. Our patent application is filed with the USTPO and we have requested that it be unpublished.
THE SLEEKEZ IS CREATED WITH WHAT MATERIALS?
The SleekEZ is comprised of a water-based ("green") lacquered, poplar wood handle embedded with a metal blade The blade material is manufactured from high carbon alloy steel. A special heat treating process gives a spring tempered hardness to back of blade. This quality allows more tension for added rigidity. The unique wave tooth pattern is comprised of a unique tooth pattern manufactured exclusively for SleekEZ, LLC. This is not a blade that can be purchased at your local hardware store or anywhere but with SleekEZ.
WHERE IS THE SLEEKEZ MANUFACTURED?
We at SleekEZ are proud to claim that our product is made 100 percent in the USA. All products used in the manufacturing of the SleekEZ, from the wood, to the glue, to the blade, and the lacquer are manufactured in the USA. We know that we can have our product made much less expensively outside of the US, but we feel that it is morally wrong to use labor that makes pennies per hour. Furthermore, all of the components of the SleekEZ are "green" for a reason. Countries outside of the US do not usually have the same standards set for release of pollutants and often dump toxins into their waterways injuring the same people that are getting only pennies for labor. We don't want to contribute to such practices.

The order must be $120 or more to have the shipping costs waived. That total is equivalent to six horse SleekEZs. The shipment will be sent via USPS First Class mail.
"We have had a number of inquiries over that past couple of years from Europe and Australia wanting breaks on shipping costs," Jennifer Tipton, president of SleekEZ said. "We also were sending SleekEZ to people that boarded at the same facility. So, it made sense to offer free as we occasionally offer free shipping within the United States."
Presently, SleekEZ has a significant amout of purchasers from France, England, Australia, Switzerland and Canada.

Beginning April 15, 2013 all supporters of BFFEC will need to enter "BFFEC" into the discount code box. SleekEZ will give back 50 percent of all sales with this code to BFFEC at the end of one month.
They are a 501(c)(3) equine charity that "saves, rehabilitates, and finds loving, forever homes for horses that have been abused, abandoned, or rescued from shipping to slaughter. [They] also provide permanent sanctuary to elderly and disabled horses that former owners have callously discarded."
For more information about this non-profit, please visit their website:
NEER North, LLC is based in Massachusetts and received its official federal 501(c)3 designation in January 2012. Many kudos to them for taking all the necessary steps to do so. Although NEER North is based in Massachusetts, they also support rescues in New Hampshire. The president of the organization is Mary Martin.
NEER North not only rescues horses themselves, but they also provide as much financial support as they can to other horse rescues. And, with the economy and droughts across this US, we all need to be helping each other out as much as possible. Although most are wise enough to not breed their horses for the time being, we still have many horses out there that have gave so much joy and use and have lost their homes or are starving. And, there are also many heartbroken horse owners that have been struck with bad times who must be crushed not being able to buy hay.
Please, to donate 50 percent of your purchase to this nonprofit rescue, type in "NEERNORTH" on the purchase page. We are running this drive for two months this time at the request of Martin. And, we are happy to do so. At the end of the period SleekEZ will submit to them 50 percent of the proceeds.
Thank you for your support! God bless you and all horses!

We had many people purchase combo packs which is the best way to go! Bev Dee of Bright Futures Farms finished off the drive with her own gift to give back! She had a drawing of all the names of those that purchased a SleekEZ and gave that individual a prize SleekEZ combo pack.
The winner? Congratulations Raymond Sherman! And, thank you, again, for your support to this wonderful organization.
SleekEZ donated 50 percent of all BRIGHT sales to Bright Futures Farm from a month-long drive through June 2012.
This month, beginning June 1, and running for 30 days, will be a drive for Brite Futures Farm. BFF, located in Pennsylvania, does not only rescue, re-home and provide sanctuary to horses, they also do the same for dogs and cats http://www.brightfuturesfarm.net/ (or visit and their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BrightFuturesFarm)
A volunteer named Dawn Hamilton purchased a large SleekEZ after reading many good reviews, and she loved how it worked. She contacted us directly and told us about the nonprofit for whom she contributed her time. After some discussion, we decided that we would love to help out Brite Futures Farm because we appreciate the dedication that they have exhibited to a wonderful cause.
Bev Dee, the founder and executive director of Brite Futures Farm, then contacted us. Our thoughts came together and here we are today contributing to a fund drive for this awesome nonprofit.
BIO of Bev Dee:
"Bev Dee's mission to save horses from abuse and neglect began 12 years ago with a horse named "Brite Decision." When Bev saw Brite for the first time, he walked slowly from the back of his stall to greet her. Despite his obvious pain, he was gentle and friendly and Bev connected with him immediately. She knew there was something special about him. When she asked a lady at the rescue about him, she was told that two veterinarians had recommended euthanasia. Bev asked if she could adopt Brite and to her surprise, the lady at the recue told her to "take him."
Bev knew that there was no guarantee that Brite would survive, but she wanted to help the sweet horse that had captured her heart. She took Brite home, had him vetted immediately and found out that he had lots of problems. It took 36 long months of constant vet care and rehabilitation, but Brite was finally healed enough to be able to live comfortably.
Today, Brite is happy and healthy and pasture sound—and he has become the heart and soul of the rescue efforts at Bright Futures Farm. He is always kind and never complains. He will do whatever is asked of him and even babysits new horses at the rescue like a doting mother—almost like he knows it's his job to help the new horses heal and grow strong again.
"Brite Decision" was the best decision Bev Dee ever made and he is the sole reason that she founded Bright Futures Farm. He is also the reason that over 300 hurting and abused horses have been saved!" - BFF
If you would like 50 percent of your purchase (excluding s/h) to go towards BFF, please type in "BRITE" on the product page when purchasing. At the end of the 30 days a check will be issued to BFF with the proceeds.
Thank you for all your help and support!

]]>OHAAT is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to horse rescues. They also are one of the few organizations that have a grant providing funds upfront for gelding stallions to reduce overpopulation and unwanted breeding. OHAAT is there for emergency medical funds and to help with feeding costs. OHAAT is located in Kentucky. http://onehorseatatime.org/OHAAT/
With your help we have been able to raise $825 over a 30-day period. SleekEZ allocated 50 percent of all "OHAAT" sales (excluding shipping and handling). We always want to give more, but every bit does help.
We have another fund drive beginning June 1, 2012. This drive will be for Brite Futures Farm of Pennsylvania.
Thanks again!
]]>"This is something that we had set our sights on from day one," said Jennifer Tipton, the owner and President of SleekEZ. "SleekEZ has been a good thing for us, and we want to share it with others. It is a win-win for everybody, and everybody is happy."
Beginning April 23, 2012, a fundraising drive has began for One Horse At A Time (https://www.facebook.com/OHAAT?ref=ts). This organization, started in 2008 by a group of women, helps support struggling horse rescues and also has its own "Gelding Grant Program." The gelding grant program is unique in that it helps pay for gelding stallions up front with the goal of reining in overbreeding.
Penny Austin, a representative of OHAAT had ordered a SleekEZ for her own use. A bulb went off and she contacted SleekEZ about possibly donating to OHAAT in some way.
"While this is something I have wanted to do from the start, I guess the hitch was how to do it," Tipton said. "So, I was open to ideas and Penny and I were on the same track. We set up a place to enter a code when ordering online for those wanting to contribute our sales to this particular nonprofit. Its only been three days into the 30 day drive and we are already half way there to the goal OHAAT has set. This is so very exciting. We are thrilled!"
Presently, the SleekEZ is making headway into stores in Victoria, Australia. Following is only the beginning of what we expect to be a large list of retailers throughout Australia.

Regardless of all the activities of 2011, and those still in progress, the end of the year is approaching. We are all on budgets, no matter our circumstance. And, for most of us, we huddle with our families this time of year including us that have been blessed only in care of animals that we call "family". My familly? Myself, two dogs, one cat and five horses that are bonded in one circle of life.
SleekEZ is NOT charging any shipping through the holidays as a gift to you in celebration of the season and in celebration of family.
We (me and my "kids") want to thank all of our customers who have done nothing less than encourage and support our product in which we believe . We continue to work from the heart and there is no other way...
Regardless of what your situation is this winter season, please stop for a moment and grasp what your life is and realize whom your family is AND appreciate those around you that mean so much!
Peace, love and happiness!

I have also spent the past month bringing all of our inventory from a California fulfillment house to in-house in Montana. I prefer to keep it direct with my customers rather than involving another entity that may have different values and ideas about quality customer care. Bottom line is that you, the customer, are never going to be as important to a third party as you are to me.
With the new shipping methods, we hope to offer UPS, USPS First Class, Priority and Express Mail and FedEX.
We hope this reduces the shipping costs for some of our buyers!
Keep on brushing!
SleekEZ
Anyway, please bear with us while we go through our transition.
It is all a work in progress. There is a lot that comes with a start-up business. For one, there is shipping. We have went from in-house to fulfillment house, to in-house, to fulfillment house. And, we are going back in-house because we want the best for our customers. We have not had the best fortune with our fulfillment house, sadly. It is difficult to be in the position where we have high expectations and they are not met.
But, onwards and upwards! We have been fortunate with the retailers with whom we have become acquainted. To those whom resale, please email us at info@sleekez.com for wholesale prices.
Cheers!
SleekEZ
One buyer emailed in that she uses it after washing all the polo saddle blankets. She said it works fantastic to remove dirt, hair and sweat from the pads. Great idea!
Let's hear some more!
]]>We had our first online sale on February 17, 2011 with many thanks to Fugly Blog. I had no idea that someone whom I had been acquainted with a few years ago was the creator of Fugly Blog. I have read some sassy posts on Fugly over the past couple of years, so I was thrilled to learn that it belonged to this individual. She is one sharp cookie whom has an opinion that is educated and right on target with a little whip snap that I love. Thank you, Cathy!
It has been a little overwhelming as I was expecting to launch in March being that I am from Montana. What I mean is that shedding season there really doesn't start until April, at the earliest. So, with the orders that have come through, I have not slept in over a month, up late, waking in the mornings at a dead run, getting shipping speed up and production going. But, things are going smoother, and I am able to now get a little sleep. I still have not looked at myself in the mirror, and God knows what I might see when I finally can.
There are so many things to share with all how my life has come into full circle. It started way back as a kid and my bond with animals. I believe that this exists for many of us, this magical connection with animals whom were many times the only friends we felt we had in the world.
Does Dr. Doolittle mean anything to any of you??
Happy brushing!
Jennifer
1) A good diet is a must. Make sure you horse is getting quality hay. Hay that is old does lose some of its nutritional value. It is no different than fresh produce that you buy from the store. Hay has the important sulfur amino acids. These and essential amino acids are important as is zinc, copper and the B vitamins, especially biotin.
I think it is a good idea to have your geriatric horses blood panel done to see their specific needs. They vary from one horse to the next.
2) Deworm, deworm, and deworm! Worms rob your horse of nutrients.
3) Proper, routine dental care! This needs to be done every year. Don't wait until your horse is "long in the tooth". Too many times when an owner waits until their horse is dropping food and/or weight to have the teeth examined, it is too late to correct dental problems.
Horses that are stalled or are on a hay diet (non-grazing) need to have their incisors (front teeth) reduced to allow the molars to have good occlusion. Good occlusion is important to grind the food and really assimilate as many nutrients as possible.
4) Exercise. Oxygen in the lungs and circulating blood are good things. Brush the horse before AND after exercising. Exercise is said to help stimulate shedding. Hose down and/or wipe down the horse after work to remove salty sweat when possible.
5) Elbow grease. Use the SleekEZ any time to remove loose hair and dirt. A good scrub with a rubber curry stimulates the skin and pulls up more dirt that might be in the coat. Brush, then, with a medium-bristled brush, followed by a soft-bristled brush, then a final wipe with a soft clothe. 6)
6) For the tail and mane... For longer manes work from the ends to the roots to avoid ripping out any of that gorgeous mane. Same with the tail. Grab the tail near the end of the length and brush until knots are removed, then grab a section further up toward the base of the tail and brush out any knots in that section. Continue until you get to the base of the tail. From there work sections from the base of the tail. Apply a little oil for sheen.
Beautiful!
The primary role of hair in animals is to serve as insulation by trapping warm air against the body, and the hair coat in mammals requires a constant supply of new hairs throughout the lifetime of the animal. In humans, hair has lost most of its protective functions and now plays an important role in social interactions. For these very reasons, nature ensures that each hair follicle cyclically regenerates its lower portion that produces the hair shaft.
Although no new hair follicles are made postnatally, each and every hair follicle undergoes three-part cyclical growth pattern in order to produce a new hair. Normally, the hair grows to a maximum length, then hair growth ceases and the hair is shed and replaced. These phases of the hair growth cycle have been described as:
1. Anagen, a long period of growth
2. Catagen, the transitional period from growing to resting lasting 2 to 4 weeks
3. Telogen, a period of inactivity lasting 2-4 months
